Privacy Policy for GoBike.au
Last Updated: 1 October 2026
At GoBike Australia , your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information when you browse, create an account, or shop for a Kids Ebike or accessory on gobike.au, and what rights you have over that information. GoBike Australia is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) that it contains, as well as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for electronic marketing.
1. What Information We Collect
When you interact with GoBike.au, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Identity & contact details: full name, email address, phone number, and (if you create an account) a password.
- Order & delivery information: billing and shipping address, order history, and any delivery instructions for your Ebike for kids purchase.
- Payment information: we do not store your full card details. Payments are processed securely by PCI-DSS compliant providers — Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip, and Klarna — who collect and hold your card/billing details directly.
- Technical & browsing data: IP address, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site (e.g. a Google or Facebook ad, referral link, or search engine) — captured via cookies and similar technologies. See Section 2 below for details.
- Communications: messages you send us via our contact form, live chat, warranty claims, or customer support requests, including any photos/videos you attach.
- Reviews & user content: if you submit a product review, your name, rating, review text and any images you upload may be displayed publicly on the relevant product page.
- Affiliate/partner data: if you join our affiliate program, we additionally collect the information needed to track referrals and pay commissions (e.g. payout/bank details, tax details where required).
2. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Like most online stores, we use cookies and similar technologies (such as a first-party visitor identifier stored in your browser) to run our site and understand how it’s used. These include:
- Essential cookies: required for core functions like your shopping cart, checkout session, and account login.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics and our own first-party visitor tracking, which help us understand browsing behaviour and improve our website and product listings. A long-lived anonymous identifier may be stored in your browser to distinguish repeat visits from new ones — this does not identify you personally.
- Advertising & campaign cookies: Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, and similar tools, which record which advert or link brought you to our site so we can measure and improve our marketing, and show you relevant ads.
- Affiliate tracking cookies: if you arrive via an affiliate or referral link, a cookie records this so the referring partner can be credited for the sale.
- Review widget cookies: our website displays a Trustpilot TrustBox, which may set cookies to show our customer reviews and to verify review invitations. See Trustpilot’s Cookie Policy for details.
Google Advertising Features & How to Opt Out
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads on gobike.au, including Google Analytics Advertising Features such as remarketing. This means Google and other third-party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on other websites you visit across the internet, based on your past visits to gobike.au, using cookies and/or device identifiers. If you are signed in to a Google Account, this data may be combined with information from that account to make ads more relevant to you. You can learn more about how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can opt out of this personalised advertising at any time:
- Manage or turn off Google’s use of ads personalisation via Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics specifically using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Opt out of many other advertising networks’ use of cookies via the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out page.
You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site (such as checkout) from working correctly.

- Track and pay affiliate commissions where applicable.
- Improve our website, products, and services based on customer feedback and aggregated browsing patterns.
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (e.g. tax, consumer law, and record-keeping requirements).
4. Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted third parties who help us run our business, including:

5. Overseas Disclosure of Your Information
Some of the service providers listed above (including Stripe, PayPal, Google, Meta, Trustpilot, and our hosting infrastructure) are based in, or store data in, the United States, the European Union (Trustpilot is headquartered in Denmark) and other countries outside Australia. Where your personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on providers with their own robust security and privacy commitments (such as PCI-DSS compliance for payment processors). By using our site, you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside Australia as described in this section.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously. Our website is protected with multiple layers of security:
- SSL Encryption: Our entire website uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to protect data transmitted between your browser and our server.
- Secure Payment Gateways: We never store your full credit card details. All transactions are handled by industry-leading, secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment processors.
- Access controls: access to systems holding personal information is restricted to authorised staff who need it to do their job.
- Ongoing review: our infrastructure and processes are regularly reviewed to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure a high level of security.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, including to meet legal, accounting, tax and warranty obligations (order and transaction records are typically retained for at least 7 years for taxation purposes). Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
8. Children’s Privacy
GoBike.au sells electric bikes designed for children, but our website and checkout are intended to be used by parents, guardians, or other adults making a purchase on a child’s behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent or guardian’s consent, please contact us using the details in Section 12 and we will promptly delete it.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request a correction to any information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
- Request the deletion of your personal data from our systems (subject to our legal retention obligations, e.g. tax records).

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), Australia’s independent privacy regulator.
